Joyce Willoughby Named as EEOC’s New Inspector General

WASHINGTON – Joyce Willoughby will be the new inspector general of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), effective March 13, the federal agency announced today.

MEMPHIS – The Memphis District Office of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is moving, the federal agency announced today. EEOC Sues Innovative Services NW for Disability Discrimination

VANCOUVER, Wash. — Innovative Services NW (ISNW), a nonprofit providing programs for people with disabilities and others to build self-reliance through educational, therapeutic, and employment services, violated federal law when it refused to accommodate an employee with a degenerative hip impairment and instead fired her, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) alleged in a lawsuit filed today.

Owners and Managers of Kingston Properties Pay $240,000 in Sex Harassment Settlement

KINGSTON, N.Y. – Kingston Properties—a group of companies that developed, owned, and managed five affordable housing complexes in Kingston, New York—will pay $240,000 to five women to settle a lawsuit filed by the U.S. Equal Employ­ment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the federal agency announced.

MIAMI – Arubaanse Luchtvaart Maatschhappij Nv, Inc., doing business as Aruba Airlines, will pay $75,000 to settle a pregnancy discrimination lawsuit filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the federal agency announced today.

EEOC Announces Two Key Staff Appointments

WASHINGTON -- The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) announced today the appointment of two key Senior Executive Service (SES) leadership positions. Christine Park-Gonzalez was named the new district director for the EEOC Los Angeles District and Elizabeth “Betsy” Rader will be the new district director of the EEOC Charlotte District.

EEOC Sues United Labor Agency for Disability Discrimination

CLEVELAND – The United Labor Agency (ULA), a Cleveland-based non-profit that focuses on workforce development, violated the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) by discriminating against an employee based on her disability, breast cancer, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) alleged in a suit filed today. Joe & The Juice Resolves Sex Discrimination Charge

LOS ANGELES – Joe & the Juice, a nationwide restaurant specializing in juice, coffee and sandwiches, has settled a federal charge of discrimination filed with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) for $715,000 and other injunctive relief, the federal agency announced today.
