NPMG TO PAY $415,000 TO SETTLE EEOC SUIT FOR RACIAL HARASSMENT OF AFRICAN AMERICAN WORKERS

Credit Card Company Subjected Blacks to Racial Slurs and Insults, Agency Charged 

         

PHOENIX – NPMG Acquisition Sub, LLC, a Phoenix credit card processing company, will pay $415,000 and furnish significant remedial relief to settle a race harassment lawsuit filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the agency announced today.  The EEOC had charged that NPMG subjected a group of African American workers to racial slurs and epithets.

EEOC Says Poultry Processor Fired Black Employee for Complaining About Racism

   

RALEIGH, N.C. – Mountaire Farms of North Carolina Corp. unlawfully retaliated against a former employee because she complained about race discrimination and filed a discrimination charge, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) alleges in a lawsuit filed today.  Mountaire Farms is a poultry processor that operates a facility in Lumber Bridge, N.C., and employs approximately 2,500 people nationwide.
