Western Trading Company Sued by EEOC

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) filed a lawsuit yesterday against Western Trading Company, Inc., an Army-Navy surplus company in metro Denver. The lawsuit alleges three violations of the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) based on Western Trading's dealings with Tyler Riley, an employee with epilepsy who has grand mal seizures and who briefly worked for the company.

Williams Country Sausage Company Sued By EEOC For Race And Wage Discrimination

A Union City, Tenn., pork company violated federal law when it engaged in race discrimination by paying an African-American maintenance worker less than others and subjecting him to a hostile work environment, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charged in a lawsuit it filed September 30, 2010. The EEOC also charged that Williams Country Sausage forced him out of his job.

Spectrum Bags, Inc., a California-based manufacturer of grocery bags, restaurant carry-out bags and retail-store shopping bags, violated federal law by subjecting female employees to a sexually hostile work environment at its Southaven warehouse and firing those who complained about it, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charged in a discrimination lawsuit it filed today.

EEOC Sues C.G.D. Developers For Race Discrimination

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) announced that it filed a race discrimination lawsuit today against C.G.D. Developers, Inc. for subjecting a black employee to a hostile work environment because of his race, at its facility in Gaffney, S.C. and various worksites where the employee, Joe M. Wheeler, was assigned. CGD is a South Carolina corporation and employed approximately 20 employees at the time of the harassment.

GEO operates and manages two prison facilities in Florence, Ariz., where the EEOC said the sex discrimination occurred.
