Anica C. Jones

Ms. Jones is a 2006 graduate of the University Of Tennessee College Of Law. She works as a Trial Attorney in EEOC's Nashville Area Office. She began working for EEOC in 2009, and has litigated lawsuits throughout the state of Tennessee and Northern Mississippi. She has also collaborated with the Birmingham District Office in the case EEOC v. Signal, being litigated in the Eastern District of Louisiana. Prior to joining EEOC, Ms. Jones served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Bernice B. Donald in the Western District of Tennessee, Memphis Division. She also worked as an associate at the Memphis law firm Burch, Porter & Johnson handling various litigation matters. As an EEOC trial attorney, Ms. Jones has litigated lawsuits arising under the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Americans with Disabilities Act and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. As lead chair, Ms. Jones led the Commission to a jury verdict of over $1.5M in EEOC v. New Breed Logistics in May 2013. Her work in EEOC v. U-Haul also led to a substantial settlement of $750,000 in September 2013. Ms. Jones is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, the Tennessee National Employment Lawyers Association, the Napier-Looby National Bar Association, and a past Member of the Board of Directors for the Memphis Area Legal Services.
