Rob Buelow

Vice-President, EVERFI

Meeting of October 31, 2018 - Revamping Workplace Culture to Prevent Harassment

Rob Buelow is a public health professional and award-winning expert in sexual assault and harassment prevention. He brings over 10 years of experience as an activist, prevention trainer, researcher, entrepreneur, and strategic consultant. Rob serves as the Vice President of Prevention Education at EVERFI where he oversees prevention research, designs and delivers consultative training, and supports the development of EVERFI's leading online training programs. He has co-authored multiple peer-reviewed journal articles, including an efficacy study of EVERFI's sexual assault prevention program for college students.

Rob has received state and national recognition for his work as a prevention educator, including the 2009 Outstanding Prevention Educator award from the California Coalition Against Sexual Assault. In addition to his role at EVERFI, Rob's experience in gender-based violence prevention includes serving as the President of Men Against Violence at Penn State University, as the Violence Prevention Coordinator at the University of California, Irvine, as a member of the Women, Gender, and Health steering committee at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and as an independent consultant.

Rob has also managed major projects as a researcher and consultant for public, private, and government sector organizations, including a pilot evaluation of a national social marketing campaign, a state-level environmental prevention plan with the CDC and EPA, and analyses of emerging technologies for global healthcare providers.

Rob received his master's degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, concentrating his studies on health communications. He completed his bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Women's Studies at Penn State University.
