Valenti Chosen as New EEOC Miami District Director

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission today announced that Paul Valenti has been selected as director of the federal agency’s Miami District Office, effective March 1.

Valenti has served as director of Pinellas County, Fla.’s Office of Human Rights since January 2012.  Before his tenure with Pinellas County, Valenti served as the manager of Lee County, Fla.’s Office of Equal Opportunity -- a position he assumed in June 2005.  Prior to working for Lee County, Valenti served with the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities.

Valenti is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and Quinnipiac University School of Law.  He is licensed to practice law in Florida and Connecticut and is admitted to the bar of the United States Supreme Court.

The Miami District Office has jurisdiction over most of Florida, with the exception of the western portion of the Panhandle, along with the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
